This course aims to:
  1. Provide the learner with the knowledge, understanding, skills and experience to become a Bookkeeper.

The course encompass:
  1. Public Relations -The competent learner will carry out simple communication tasks involving the analysis, contextualisation and synthesis of written material dealing with the basic principles and ideas underpinning public relations as a professional management discipline.
  2. Communication - The competent learner will demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in an organisational environment.
  3. Business and Office Administration - The competent learner will be able to perform the tasks of a junior secretary.
  4. Financial Accounting - The competent learner will demonstrate an understanding of the functions and purposes of accounting and its purpose in the business environment; explain the accounting processes through practical examples, and develop experience and confidence in dealing with practical situations as a basis for further studies.
  5. Cost and Management Accounting - The competent learner will demonstrate a basic understanding of the principles of cost and management accounting.

The institute will enroll:
  1. Those who are new to financial management and who wish to acquire the essential skills and knowledge required to perform the key financial tasks involved in operating a small business.
  2. Those who are already employed in record-keeping, financial management or allied roles in a small business and who wish to ensure that they have a firm foundation to perform financial management tasks.
  3. Those who have performed financial management and financial record-keeping for a long time but who have no formal Qualification which acknowledges their knowledge, skills and expertise.
  4. Those who were denied access to formal education and who wish to gain a Qualification in financial management related to small businesses.

The learner will:
  1. Use basic Mathematics in order to fulfill new venture functions effectively. 
  2. Apply basic communication skills in new venture creation context.
